Travel and accommodations

Getting to Montreal

Airport: Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Dorval, QC

It is about a 30 min drive from downtown, depending on traffic. Taxi, Uber, and city bus (#747) are all available to bring you into Montreal. All major car rental brands are available from the airport as well.

Accommodations

If you are coming from out of town and will need accommodations, we recommend you book early as Montreal is popular in the summer (especially now, coming out of COVID!) and hotels will fill up fast. We don’t have any official arrangements anywhere, but can recommend the following options:

  • Hotels in or near Old Montreal (the most beautiful part of the city, highly walkable)
    • SpringHill Suites by Marriott Old Montreal – 445 Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Montreal, Quebec H2Y 2Z7 (next door to Auberge Saint-Gabriel, where the reception will be held)
    • Embassy Suites by Hilton Montreal – 208 Rue Saint-Antoine O, MontrĂ©al, QC H2Y 0A6
    • Also there are many lovely boutique hotels in and around Old Montreal that are highly recommended!
  • Downtown hotels on Sherbrooke St. (good central location, next to McGill University):
    • The Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Centre-Ville – 380 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec H3A 0B
    • Hotel Le Cantlie Suites – 1110 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec H3A 1G9
    • Hotel Omni Mont-Royal – 1050 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec H3A 2R6
  • AirBnB’s could be another option if you are interested in staying in our part of town:
    • Little Italy neighbourhood, Rosemount-La Petite-Patrie quarter (where we live)
    • Le Plateau-Mont-Royal (“the Plateau”, where we formerly lived, and the lively heart and soul of the local Montreal scene.)
